As usual we were ALL glued to the television to watch the Westminster Dog Show. Our new arrival however was quite confused that he could see but not sniff the contestants. Our breeder who hails from Nova Scotia had one of her Elkhounds entered in the group but she did not take the group this year. Apologies for the crooked angles guys :)

He really was attracted to this Boxer for some reason.

The Golden Retriver also held his interest for a bit as well.

Cute!

Frida joined me for my shoveling duties this morning. She even helped clear a little snow!
I always wanted a snow cat.  ;D

This little fawn appears to be an orphan and has been hanging around the neighborhood for a couple of months now. She seems to have adopted us despite Luna (the dog) not being very welcoming and spends much of her time in the yard sleeping, eating the weeds (yay!). Frida (the cat) seems to like her and even hangs out with her outside sometimes. I'm hoping for a good outside shot but for now these through the window ones are pretty easy and fun. Hopefully this little deer survives the winter and doesn't attract any lions!

One thing I really like is getting white on white shots with Luna. She looks great in the snow for a high key shot. I may not have a chance to get more of these kinds of shots for months now so here are a couple of my favorites from this past winter.

very nice...and a beautiful animal- indeed part of the snowy landscape

Here's yet another one of the boys. If you look closely at the pics atop the subwoofer in the upper right of the shot you'll see some photos of some of our former companions.

The snow base is firm enough for Luna to go on a short ski with me next to town this afternoon. Pretty fun for me and I think she really enjoyed it too.

Bebe's lament. "It's always water".

Too bad you can't spike the water with Dognip.
I guess there isn't a real Dognip, analogous to Catnip.

Here's the real dope on Catnip (highly recommended):

"What shall we do with a catnipped kitty?"
