Those are great photos! Cute chicks too! Will they be laying eggs for you or going into the pot?

The pot it was.

Last weekend, after several weeks of gradual decline, my wife's first pet, Stella, was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma - it's essentially untreatable, and generally results in massive internal bleeding and a host of other very traumatic issues for the dog in very short order, so we took her home and made the decision to say goodbye to her tomorrow.  She's 15 (Stella, not my wife ;)  ) though, so she's had a really good run, and this is the kind of dog that would much rather stop wasting away and move on to whatever comes next than go out in confused agony in week or two anyway.  We spent yesterday taking some pictures of her, and I want to share them.  Thanks for taking a second and looking.

My condolences, James. That always such a hard thing to do but it sounds like you made the right call.  :'(

I really appreciate that - it's pretty brutal, and certainly more so for my wife than me.  This was her pup from her first years on her own - Stella was a street dog that my wife took in and they sort of became "adults' together.

My condolences, too.
I trust you will post prints of all three of those images on a wall in your home. They will provide beautiful memories.

Do Not Disturb

That's Lola who tries her best to block out the rest of the world.

Thanks Bob :)  That a great pic of Lola.  They're really adorable when they do that :)

A couple of cats, then: the one in the fur coat remained very coy and wouldn't tell me a thing, not even her name; the other one is called Denise, and we met at Heathrow Airport. So much for security - could have fogged my Kodachrome.

Has anyone else noted the common currency that seems to exist between pretty creatures on their backs and fur coats?

For the vets: Nikon F or F2 with Nikkor 2.8/35mm.

Now there's a pet it would be fun to have around.

This kind can be very high maintenance.

Full disclosure: neither are my pets but I thought the old horn-dogs would get excited about it otherwise....  :o

Neither is, Andrew. And you don't want to make the pets plural. "Neither one is my pet."
