Matt, Luna on the paddle board is JUST AMAZING!! My guy would have me in the water in seconds.

Gregg, your two are just adorable, our neighbor had a Basset Hound years back and he was a great, fun, dog!! She/he looks so regal on the chair, great catch!!

Thanks! She likes to ride on the board or wade but isn't fond of swimming so once on, she wants to stay on until near the shallows again. Sometimes she just runs along the shore for remote stretches too.

Morning at the creek with Luna.

This drought is great for wading!

Tall grass is a favorite of hers.

Bob, Juan's Mood is just wonderfully done! You also have some truly great shots rotating on your website's home page, the water droplets, Grosbeak, and the wasp (I think) are just outfrigginstanding!!!

"Juan's Mood"

Very nice! The thin DOF was done perfectly! Super cute kitty too.
My hope for this thread was high quality pet photos rather than documentary snaps and this certainly makes the cut!

Thanks Matt. (I sometimes wonder if pets=dogs. Nice to know cats are welcomed too.)  ;)

I think if it's an animal you keep as a companion, then it counts!

There is a photo of my cat a couple of pages back. She isn't quite as an enthusiastic model as Luna so I don't get as many cat photos. :)

I snapped this one last night. Shutter speed was a little low so I'm hoping we can coax her into more of this for a better shot. She is chasing a pinecone in the yard.
I went with the retro film look as it seems to go with the flawed shot.

Good one, Matt.
Kitty's expression really conveys the intensity of the hunt.

 nyah, nyah, nyah,nyah,nyah!

Our Ralphie is growing up very, very, nicely. He's eating us out of house and home! He now weighs over 45 pounds!! It's just about time for his trip to the Vet for the operation that no guy likes to do to another. It is the item of neutering of which I speak!! Gosh, my knees reflexively clapped together when I typed that.

Jeremy, is there a medical term for that "reflex" :  :)

By the by, I apologize for not catching any action outdoor stuff but my lower back is really killing me! I may just have to see about a surgical option, oh well.

Flawed nuttin!  That's a great shot.  The blurred foliage adds motion, velocity, tension.  Her face is sharp on my screen.

Thanks Peter! Her face is relatively sharp but not quite as much as it could be under close inspection. I wish the shutter was just a little faster. I'll try again when I get the chance and try to improve on that aspect.

Those are great photos! Cute chicks too! Will they be laying eggs for you or going into the pot?

I took a new lens out with Luna for a walk the other day.
The lens is one of those oddball Pentax primes, a 43mm f/1.9. A late film-era lens with screw drive AF.
Seems pretty nice for portraiture. Luna was a willing subject as long as the treats kept coming.
