digital studio computer trolley
« on: August 07, 2006, 09:07:13 pm »

Hi all, thought I would throw this out there and see if anyone has a recommendation:

I shoot 90% of the time in studio tethered to my aptus 22 back. The cart I use currently has become impractical to roll around from set to set and I am looking for a smaller cart to use. Ideally it should hold a mac tower (maybe one of those new ones soon...), have a keyboard tray along with room for 9x12 wacom tablet, a 23" apple monitor and be adjustable for either seated or standing work and not be too heinous in the looks/aesthetics dept. Looked at metro, anthro(maybe but kinda ugly) and other lab/studio outlets. Alternatively, the seat can be the raised and lowered elemnt as opposed to the work surface but concerned with viewing angles. What do you all use?

Thanks,

steve

That large Anthro keyboard, mousing, wacom shelf sure is nice to use.  Very easy to adjust from sitting to standing.  When I commited to making an OSHA approved work station 2 years ago all my Back problems and Carpal Tunnel problems went away.  There are not any alternatives to Anthro that I've seen.  Maybe one of the vertical magliners they use as a video cart in the film industry would fit you needs:

Very customizable.  Very mobile

I've seen this cart in action, but with a VESA arm for the monitor.  Sort of a mini-mini magliner:

good luck.  once you get the computer cart races going in your studio post a picture for us.

I use this one:

£69 and looks really cool. I either use it with a 19"CRT , wacom, keyboard, G$ tower or I use it with my laptop and periferals. It scoots around the studio on castors.

Looks good, Damien. Too bad they don't deliver outside the UK.
