Hard to be sure with US spellings/pronunciations. You know, basil is pronouncrd basil, and oregano is properly pronounced oregano. You USAians really do seem to struggle with these.
It's only because my my mother was English that I have any idea of how to pronounce
Gloucestershire (one of the easier examples, really).
Here in Nova Scotia there is a village called
Port Mouton. At one time, the village was called "Sheep Overboard" (what an image that makes). The locals pronounce the village name
Port mah-TOON.
