Not sure about that colorful dot. Addition (as in adding a point of interest) or distraction? I'd say distraction, as it is not defined enough to add interest. The same goes for the few twigs or blades of grass in the lower left corner. Otherwise, a nice photograph.

The first thing I did was to look what it was that in the left lower corner... and then I notice the head of the guy...

For the rest nice photograph... I have to travel in winter to Iceland

My first instinct was to remove the man but dithered because I wondered if he added scale. On reflection, I think you're right.

Yes.

Also... I know your range of movements (a.k.a. composing by your feet) was probably extremely limited, but in a hypothetical case, it would have been useful to move around until you eliminate the yellow patches of grass from your field of view. Or you can fix it in Photoshop

The version with the person for scale is not ideal. OTOH, without the scale, I don't really have the sense of how large these falls are, without supporting contextual images. So the image as a sole image suffers a bit, IMO.

I have had the same problem (and I apologize for the following images because they were taken with a small point and shoot camera). Here is a picture of "Poll na bPeist" (the Wormhole) on the Aran Island of Inis Mor. It is a fascinating natural fault. But, because the rocks were so very slippery that day, no one could safely climb down closer to it. So it's very hard to tell that it is about 20 feet wide and 50 feet long. However, some of my other images from the area do give a general sense of scale along the coastline. I would love to go back some day and do some real photography.

Agreed about Rajan. I thought of that as a kind of documentary snapshot, to remind me of the height of the hill I'd climbed (I'm unfit and as far from a mountaineer as one can reasonably get). It hadn't occur to me that anyone would actually like it!

You're right, which is why I'd originally left him in there, but it didn't really work. I've just posted another shot, here, taken from the same place as this one, showing the size of the fall.

The Wormhole does look impressively dangerous!
