I like the third and fourth.
Not to criticize but your next step is to master Lightroom and Photoshop.
If you can afford it buy a great computer screen.
I have been working on digital photography for over 10 years and I think after great screen is very important.
Here would be my list of great digital photographs, numbered by order. 1 being the most important.
1. The idea
2. Lens+Camera ( Note I put lens first)
3. Great Computer screen
4. Lightroom and photoshop skills.
I love your shots.
Very kind, and very interesting. I think you are right. I used (at a decent level) Photoshop, but now I prefer to work without local editing
and sophisticated skills. I work on RAW with DXO (so better than Lightroom and other ones I used for high and low zones recover and raw-to-jpg conversion, only Capture One IMHO is at these levels). Great screen....I agree 100%....I like to prepare and to self-evaluate my images for a 4k 55' screen. Next step will be an OLED 4k screen. I know that your suggestion is another thing (To edit with great and not only to control the finished work), but I find 4k (and next years' 8k) a FUNDAMENTAL aspect to appreciate certain kinds of image.
4k (better if OLED) permits digital images (monochrome especially) to get closer to my favourite large format analogue photography (I practise it too and I love it, for me my 24X36 is a little but funny imitation play of my large format cameras...).
All the best,
