Grand Canyon Christmas
« on: January 03, 2017, 10:24:16 pm »

Made it to the Grand Canyon just before the Christmas Eve storm arrived. Woke up Christmas morning to a blanket of snow along the canyon rim.

This is the best series of the Grand Canyon that I have seen in a while.

Too much to comment on really apart from offering congratulations!

I love the snow on the canyon. It's still the majestic Grand Canyon but with a different mood.
Well done!

Yes. Love the contrast between rock and snow.

Cool stuff! It snowed once while I was staying in the park…November 1994. The flakes coming down made for a gorgeous sight.

I particularly like the pano. By the way, how many frames is it stitched from?  And what focal length lens were you using?

+1.
It's so nice to see the Canyon in a very different nood from the "classic." Very nice set.

Beautiful.  I love the way snow interacts with the vibrancy of the American southwest.  On a clear day after a storm, white snow, red rocks and bright blue sky can be amazing together.

These are great, especially the Isis Temple Peak shot. I've been to the Canyon a few times, but not seen it with so little haze. That clarity is likely another benefit of the snow.

I love all of them and appreciate that you would brave the cold for me to enjoy.
