Help with Imageprint 9

Hi guys.

for about 4-5 years ago I bought Imageprint 9 for my printing.
As you might know they lock you in to that particular OS ,in my case snow leopard.

I love to print with Ip9, it made my printing a dance on roses, so to speak. (Swedish expression
Prints comes out perfect from first time and the black and white looks stunning..

I stopped print and had a big drop in my motivation to taking pictures.

Now a few yeas later I want to start to print again and my motivation are on top again.
People asking to  buy my prints and so on..

NOW
today i have a dell xps 15 and running win 10.

i also buying a Epson p800 and a benQ 2700p, And use lightroom cc and photoshop.

So what do you guys think of this. I do my post on my dell and when I am happy with the file I put the file on a memory stick and put it on a old macbbok pro with imageprint 9 running and then print my image.


Is this a good idea guys? what possible problems can i run in to?

I really dont want to buy a new version of imageprint..

Or are Lightroom cc good enough to print from?

The LR print module served me well for years, but having run IP10 with a P800, I'll stick with IP going forward.  That doesn't mean that I've abandoned LR; I still use it for my library and editing needs, with IP set up as an external editor so it's available in lieu of the LR print module with an easy click. I'll then do some minor final edits using IP, such as output sharpening (great feature with IP10), etc.

It seems you really liked IP, so if I were you, I'd contact the folks at ColorByte to explore your options with continuing to run IP9 if you don't want to invest in the new version.  The ColorByte staff are knowledgeable and nice, so I'm sure you'll come up with a satisfactory solution.

As an aside, I don't know anything about your monitor, but to not waste the fabulous soft-proofing with IP, it's important to use a large one with reliable calibration, sufficient gamut, etc.  I assume you wouldn't use your laptop for that, only to run your software, perhaps.
