I recently upgraded to ImagePrint v6.1 from version 5.6. After installing the new version I found out that the new version 6.x icc profiles for my printer altered the colors in the prints I was making from the same stored images I printed using the v5.6 profiles. I confirmed this with several other users and have attempted to get the support staff at ImagePrint to acknowledge that this is happening. I sent them a file as they requested twice now and so far they have not even responded to my email. I sent them the first file 2 weeks ago.
Oddly enough, no other user has needed anything from me to confirm this. I've been on the phone with users who just opened their own files and switched between the 5.6 and 6.x profiles while inside ImagePrint. They have all noticed a color shift. In some cases the color shift is subtle, in others it is substantial. They have done this with me on the phone and it has never taken anyone more than a minute to confirm this.
I have found out that they are using a new method to produce their icc profiles. Unfortunately, they did not let anyone know the new profiles altered the printed colors from those that were produced with the 5.6 profiles.
I have hundreds of images stored and I do reprints regularly. I cannot afford to redo the image files so that they will print properly with the new profiles. I cannot imagine them creating new profiles that will cause color shifts.
Has this company had so much success that it no longer believes it needs to respond to cusomers with current support contracts?
