Of Parks and Paths
« on: November 27, 2016, 07:27:39 pm »

An aimless monochromatic wander through a local park looking for something non-specific......inspiration, motivation, or any other relevant 'ation' perhaps?

The first image is very strong. All the lights and darks come together to make a powerful graphic image. Makes bw format even more surreal that it it already is. The others are good too, but less graphic, more ethereal. Always wanted to try infrared, but the cost is prohibitive. Excellent work.

They're all good, but the first is really dazzling.

They all demonstrate the weird yet somehow effective power of infrared photography, but the first is exceptionally strongly composed.

Very nice indeed, makes me want to rush out and get my old 5D MkII converted to IR.

Sweet  :)

Now there's a coincidence. It's on my List of Things To Do as well.

Thanks John. I was worried the relatively new bitumen path would  be too dominant, but it all works.
IR doesn't have to be expensive, especially digital. Don't tell anyone, but this is a $300 m4/3 camera.
I've printed to 20x30" and the files have held up well.

Yes, one can really create some strong, punchy B&W images out of the IR files despite the unnatural-ness of them

I'm with the crowd here - first one is one of the best examples of IR photography I've seen.

The first picture is powerful--transcendental.

Gotta pile on with #1. It has a constructed look to it, as though it's a photo of a miniature model. I think this is due to the tree foliage. I like!
