Why is it always the Cyan channel?

My printer is an Epson 4900, about 26 months old.
If I am not doing any printing, I try to print a Nozzle Check every day.
If I am traveling and can't print the nozzle check, when I arrive home after a short, 3-5 day trip, the first nozzle check I print ALWAYS shows lots of those little gaps in the CYAN channel.
So far, they have always disappeared after one or at most two Manual cleanings of the CY channel.
Typically all of the other channels look great on the first nozzle check print I make even after a few days absence
So, why is it always the CYAN channel?

You are not the only one and I have always wondered about this too. I have made inquiries about it and never received a satisfactory explanation. The only thing I can surmise is that the components of that particular ink are more prone to drying out than is the case for the others.

see 4900 has to go.  I was hit by the Cyan, too.

Regarding clogging/missing nozzles, it does seem Cyan and green are the two most problematic.  Not sure why, maybe something to do with the capping station.  There’s speculation the issue with the 4900 is the capping station doesn’t seal as well as it should.

As far as 4900 head deaths however, we’ve seen a dozen 4900’s die, and it’s been issues in all colors.  In fact LK seems to be the more problematic color in well used printers with a failed head.
