Just another quick one...

I always heard about "16 bit color" when discussing MFD but as yet I have not seen this in any of the Fuji press. 

Does this exist?  Or is this a Phase One invention?

Making and/or using a 16-bit A/D converter is one thing. But making a sensor that, when its photosite voltages are quantized post capture, can deliver 16 bits worth of proper image data is another.

Photoshop is 15 bits, at least for the time being, so would there be a 16 bit file Photoshop wouldn't be able to handle it at full DR.

As Telecaster says, it is one thing to have a 16 bit converter and an another thing to have 16 bit clean data. Modern CMOS on DSLR can deliver about 14 bits of information. The 44x33 sensors seem to deliver around 14 bits worth of data.

The IQ3-100MP sensor seems to deliver close to 15 bit of data.

The 16 bits of data Phase One was bragging about was very questionable, mildly speaking. A smart guy known as 'Torger' found out that raw data was just 14 bits, with the IQ3-100MP Phase One now actually have 16 bits coding in the raw file.
