Hi Don,
I also found that particularly the masking inside "Landscape Pro" was inadequate. The concept is how the future will probably evolve, with dedicated processing of recognized features with specific properties, and Relighting as a bonus. But as it stands, "Landscape Pro" is not ready for prime time, IMHO.
I have enough masking tools in PS and plugins to make purchase of this product a complete waste. I do use Portrait Pro with great success (when used with proper restraint). It makes portrait retouching generally very efficient and effective though using PS techniques alone is useful to know.
Yes, the knowledge of facial morphology will facilitate the application of distortions (if necessary), cosmetic enhancements, and Relighting. Knowledge of skin structure and color will help to avoid creating plastic skin. Portrait Pro offers a real workflow speedup, compared to a full blown retouch (unless outsourced).
Cheers,
Bart
