My camera says the battery has a performance... I see one red dot. What does this mean?

As batteries can only be recharged a limited number of times the ability (ie the number of shots you get from a recharge) to do this diminishes over their lifetime: yours is reaching the end of it. To quote the manual (page 212): "Purchasing a new battery is recommended".

Thanks ONe, wow, but what is reading mean? Three sqaures, I have one red, does three red mean it' s over? In that case I have a lot of time to go...
