C1 color
« on: July 13, 2016, 02:05:58 am »

Over on the Printing forum, there is a long thread on printing being broken again on a Mac. Recently, something changed on my Mac with C1 I have the latest of everything, but am away and can't list them. I loaded a stack of new images whicj look different to the norm, not a lot but different. I didn't ask because I had know idea of exactly when it happened, and at what software level.

I'm wondering whether I am alone in this.

Hey Jeff,

That's very little info to make any suggestions.  Can you quantify 'Different to the norm'??

And different to what?

Hi David,

That's exactly why I have held off. I haven't been able to define it yet and i have been too busy to experiment. All that I can say is that i imported a load of NEF files, and that the colour looked different. This was shortly after updating C1 and CC.

Maybe my sensor has gone awry, I just don't know.

Hi Jeff,

These are previews I assume, not prints? If previews, make sure to check whether your Soft Proofing settings have been changed, or the selected output recipe if that's what Softproofing uses.

Hi Bart,

Thanks. I'm away from my machine for a few days so can't check.  I'm talikng about screen not print. I normally have my output set to Profito TIF. Does that affect what I see on the screen? I may well have changed that to JPG as I had to produce some recently.

Could that do it?

Hi Jeff,

It depends on your settings. If your Proof Profile is set to:

View|Proof Profile|Selected Recipe

then it will use the active recipe's profile settings for the preview. If you have specifically set it to another profile selection, then that will be used to display regardless of the output recipe.

Bart

I'm back, set it to ProPhoto, and all looks good again. Many thanks.
