Storms in Bavaria
« on: June 25, 2016, 07:13:24 pm »

From a couple of weeks ago. Almost every day contained a violent thunderstorm. I got quite good at knowing when to stop cycling and run and hide.

The second image is magnificent. Nit: get rid of the halo around the tree.

They're all fine, but my favorite is the first.

And when to take photographs, by the look of it. Great shots, particularly the second (though I agree with Rajan's nitpick).

A lone tree, dramatic skies, all in B&W. What's not to like?

They're all fabulous, (ditto on the halo but I sometimes do that too ;) )

My favourite is #3, I think the tree in that one is more interesting, with the bare branches.

When given lemons...great series despite the havoc wreaked by the storms.

My vote goes to #2 with #3 being not too far behind. The first image would also be superb but the vertical framing constrains the scene too much for my tastes. The second shot fixes that.
Anyway, well done!

Ken, these are all fantastic pictures and thanks for sharing. I was in Germany a month ago when the flooding was occurring and I hope that it has stopped. All three pictures are amazing. I was scrolling down the first image and was struck by the beauty of the clouds. The top part of the photo with the clouds reminded me of shots taken by the Hubble telescope of parts of distant galaxies. I do not know the technical term for the space shots but perhaps the shots were of a nebula. At any rate, all three photos are full of drama and contrasting imagery. Because all three photos are so rich in composition, cropping is possible if you wished.
