Love the first one!

Unmistakably a biker, quite a character, and yet not a cliche.

... sumptuous black and white processing ... these guys look like the real deal. Did they let you inside their clubhouse for an ice-cold beer?

Funny enough, the event was organized by a...church. These are mostly Christian Motorcyclists, riding for (with?) Jesus. So, no, no beer, but quite a nice free food, burgers and pulled pork sandwiches, for about 300 people. The only ice-cold thing was ice cream for numerous kids running around. The event is also known as the Biker Blessing, as a priest (a biker himself) actually goes around and blesses bikes and riders. This is from last year, the guy on the left is the priest:

But smoking is apparently OK? I approve of that! (I feel like I just got blessed...  ;) )

Great pictures, except:  not a bike chick amongst them! That's surely a broken rule, and in this case, probably a broken Commandment!

Nice work!

Fun photos! The treatment matches the subject well.

I'd think if it was for/with Jesus there should have been wine! ;)

Annie Leibovitz, then, in later years?

I see the difficulty you faced.

Here you go, Rob. Biker chicks, including an idealized biker chick. The chicks the "cool dudes" go for.

The bw renditions really gives them more life. The contrast within the people and scenes come alive.

Right, John. But color gives you details about what they're wearing. It's instructive. Down here in Leesburg, Florida we have an annual "bikefest" that brings in thousands of bikers. It lasts three days, and if you're not deaf at the end of those days you're fortunate, or you live far enough away from the roads to keep the racket down to a dull roar. But the local merchants -- especially the bars and package stores -- make out like bandits. The cops sort of relax and don't get too pushy unless they see something going on that's really hazardous. Nonetheless there usually are a few accidents and an occasional fatality. But, what the hey? That's life in the fast lane. What fun!

Quite right Russ. I am mostly a colour guy. My subtle colour work does not reproduce well in BW. But your last image (quite fine, with lots of tension- bold and graphic look) is rendered more powerful by the simplicity and power of the BW tonal contrasts. BTW, it was BW which drew me to photography in the first place, specifically the look and power of IR imagery. I have yet to see any digital images that can match the feel and glow of a film-based IR image. I especially like Slobodan's bike image where the focus becomes the restrained but powerful glow emanating from the bike, and it says- I'm not just a mean machine, look at my intricate parts. I am fine machine.
