Guys I need your help please,

Basically I switched to roll paper in order to save money and paper while still have the option to print on a large format if I need/want to.

My problem is as follows, I have a 17inch roll for which I calculated could get two A4 (8.27 × 11.69 inches) sorry I am based in Europe) standing vertically side by side, and following the same logic combinations of A5s and A6 size (if needed by rotating it or making a grid), thus ideally I would like to print say several photos at same height (1 Row x # Columns) or other combinations.

I have set up the custom paper size but when printing the Epson printer dialog kindly tells me that it will not print because "A roll paper is loaded, but the paper source selected in the printer driver is not appropriate.
The print cannot be continued.
Please match the paper source setting of the printer driver to the loaded paper in the printer.
To print using the paper source setting in the printer driver, remove roll paper and then load the appropriate paper."

So how can I do this, is there a way?

When using the printing size the printer makes me choose, I end up having the cut line printed and loosing paper in the process.

Your help and knowledge of Capture One and Epson is deeply appreciated

Not a Capture One guy but it works in Lightroom which may not be of help to you.
Page Setup - Custom Size 17" W roll X 12" height.
Cell size 11.69H X 8.27W  Columns 2
Margins .12 L and .12 R  Preview looks good with those settings.
Under printer settings..
Roll Paper Borderless Auto Expand. (Did not try the plain roll paper setting, it may work?)
Hit print.

Just tried "roll paper" setting in Printer Settings and it prints fine as well.

Thanks for the help, found the way. Basically when you are printing from Capture One you are prompted twice for the printer settings, the second time you have to select the customised paper size and in the print settings select Roll Feeder.

Quite complicated but it is ok now.

At the risk of topic-drift, how do you cut the print using roll paper? Probably one of my DUH! moments.

It prints a dashed cut line and rolls the paper out the front of the printer.
Just take a scissors and slice it off on the line.
