Pixelrights Portfolio Management Services Focuses on Image Security

Today, the NUJ (National Union of Journalist -UK) have just sent me information about Pixelrights, a photo portfolio hosting website company based in London - I have not heard of them before.

It's refreshing to see that the team behind this website are trying to protect photographers intellectual rights.

In addition to standard protection methods it uses its own proprietary software to split each image into several pieces.

I'm always skeptical of these concepts. Do you have an example of this image protection in action?

 The only thing that looked like an example on the site was the demonstration of their "smart frame" with details about how they encrypt the images data and go through some lengths to protect it -- https://www.pixelrights.com/smartframe. But, it was trivial to download a really nice 1600-pixel file from that. See attached.

The problem with every service I've seen like this is that you put a barrier between you and your legitimate user, spend money, slow your site down, and in the end the people who want to steal your images still steal your images.

Maybe this one is different and I just didn't see a real example of it in action.
