Mac User so I am particularly pleased with the bug fixes to the Curve Tool.

Not really been a major problem but just makes life a little easier being able to pick a point on the curve.

Adding some extra features to the shortcuts is also nice, like resetting the rename counter, which I have had to do manually for every import.

Just a quick question.

One of the new features in the short cuts is  "Select By "   is that, in effect,  the same as  " Filter By " ?

Hey Jeff,

Select By, allows you to either select by rating or colour tag.  So if you have marked a large collection of images with different tags or ratings, you can choose to instantly select all the Green tags (for example).  Worth setting up a shortcut for.

Shift-G (select all green) then CMD-D.. process those.  Easy!

It is nice to see Phase One continuing to refine and add features while Adobe seems to be resting on their laurels collecting rent.

Did I miss it, or is support for the Nikon D5 and Canon 1DXII still to come?

Thanks David,
For the moment think I will stick to filtering because you can then actually see the selection for a quick review before continuing.
Especially as I use the RED tag for deletions.

With this new method it does appear to do the selection but you have no visual confirmation.

Hi Jeff,

You do have visual confirmation as the images are selected.

Great, now the color editor doesn't work at all.
Anybody else with this issue?

Figured it out.
There was a bug in which if you were to set the default profile in the D800 to "No Color Correction", new imports would be given a value of "--"
This evidently angered the color correction tool.
If I reassign a profile, all works as it should.

I upgraded two iMacs. One is fine. The other has lost the library tool, and crashes each time I try to add it to the Library tab. I have raised a support case already.

Appears to be quite a few issues with this release, especially with the Library for Mac users

Hopefully 9.1.1 will be issued earlier than planned to implement fixes.

I need to add that I am now starting to have all sorts of issues with this latest release of 9.1.

When I try to delete a Keyword from the Keyword Library all I get is the Spinning Ball.
Only way out of this is to use Force Quit. This issue also happens if I try to rename a Keyword.

Tried to edit the Keyboard shortcut and the program just crashes.

Startup time also seems to take a long time.

Just did a complete uninstall and reinstall as suggested from support, however still have the on going issues.

Also noticed on the PhaseOne User Forum: http://forum.phaseone.com/En/viewforum.php?f=61&sid=411360e8f51f0b0ef4a2a27488da684c that many are having issues with 9.1.

Running on a Macbook Pro Retina (June 2012) 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB with OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.4.

I now assume their must be some real issue with this latest version 9.1.

Major problem with C1 Pro 9.1 files when loading into Color Effex pro within Photoshop.  Here is the support case I filed with the details:

RAW files converted with Capture One 9.1 crash Google's Nik Color Effex 4 (Windows Platform).   Any file converted with 9.1 and then loaded into Photoshop crashes Color Effex or returns a pink/green duotone file. If I convert the same image in 9.0 or Adobe Camera RAW it does not. If I convert it to PSD instead of TIF it still crashes. If I first convert the RAW file to DNG and then RAW convert the file in C1 9.1 it crashes Color Effex.  This phenomenon occurs with RAW files from Nikon, Sony and Canon cameras and then converted by Capture One 9.1.  Using an older process engine within C1 does not resolve the problem. The system has 32GB of RAM with nothing else running so there is plenty of memory for the operation.  There are others on NatureScapes.net reporting the same problem.

There appears to be something different about C1 Pro 9.1 generated TIF/PSD files that crashes Color Effex Pro 4.

And then in a follow-up post to my support case I added:

A little more info, changing Bit depth to 8 bits or to a different color space still causes the crash in Color Effex 4. Again if I use an other RAW converter or an older version of C1 Pro, there is no crash.

By the way, does anybody know if you can roll back C1 Pro to an older version like 9.0.3 by running the older install file which is still in my Downloads folder?  I hate to just try it on my production system.

Hi,

I don't know if it is related, but  my first conversions to TIFF in 9.1 (Windows) looked fine when opened into Photoshop, but were totally the wrong gamma after Topaz Clarity was run.

It was caused by the profile setting in my output recipe, which had changed my profile choice to embed the camera profile. A simple edit of the recipe solved that.

So, check if the recipe settings are still what you expect them to be.

Other than that, no issues.

Cheers,
Bart

I hadn't noticed problems previously with the 9.1 upgrade (I rarely use Color Effex Pro) but checked this one out after reading your post. I haven't managed to crash C1 so far, but I did repeatedly get the same pink/green or pink only preview in CEP that you observed. I then realised that the profile in my usual C1 output recipe had changed from ProPhoto RGB to Embed Camera Profile, apparently spontaneously. Changing this back to ProPhoto appears to solve the CEP issue, at least on preliminary inspection.

Also, the CEP problem does not seem to occur if the file with the embedded camera profile is converted to the working space (ProPhoto RGB) on import to Photoshop - you may not have noticed if you have the import warning turned off in Photoshop.

There is a side issue in C1 in that changing the output profile in any of the recipes now has a major delay of at least 10 seconds before the list of profiles appears (previously it was more or less instant), so there is clearly something very wrong here.

That may be a further line of investigation, and hopefully changing the output profile or converting on import to Photoshop may be a work around for your immediate problem until Phase One can get it sorted.

Cheers,

Malcolm

You can uninstall the current version and reinstall the previous one. I see no problems with that, especially when you do a total cleanup with the uninstall. There are instructions on the Capture One knowledge-base how to totally uninstall and clean up the file structures from previous versions for the different operating systems, should that be necessary.

Cheers,

Hi Malcolm,

It's similar to what I experienced with Topaz Clarity, it's confused by the Camera profile that got embedded, but if on/after import the profile is changed before applying the plugin filter, all is fine.

I noticed that it were only the output recipes that I made myself that had the changed profile, the default ones were as expected. I do not know if that was only in my case (on Windows 7) or worth a general caution. I checked all output profiles to be sure, and they have not changed since.

We may be on to something, and if it's the same thing causing the issue for E.J. Peiker, he may want to give that feedback to PhaseOne in his support case. If it's not the same thing causing his issues, a separate case should be opened, since it appears to be not an isolated thing because we both experienced the same phenomenon.

Cheers,
Bart
