Hah…my dad, who was an avid fly-tyer & fisherman, used to get this magazine via his brother-in-law in Scotland (who had a subscription).

Flylife is a great magazine. The guy that owns it, Rob Sloane is formerly a fisheries biologist as well as a fly fishing tragic.
Only problem is it's quarterly and I can't get enough.

I'm sort of fly-fisher. I stopped modern techniques and went traditional Tenkara few years ago to save weight, size and to go where fly-fishers can't. It is awesomely fun and efficient but need some techniques. Hope you'll have the occasion to shoot this discipline one day.

Actually, Bernard is in good position to find Tenkara fishermen (Japan).

Bernard, You should definitely have a look at Tenkara fishing while in Japan.
It's a very simple form of fly (ish) fishing that's becoming quite trendy around the world now.
Some of the original Japanese Tenkara gear is exquisite.

In facf I may have tried once 12-13 years ago in a narrow river with trees overhead.

My stick kept getting caught in trees and I fished more leaves than trouts...

But yes, I should give it anothef chance.
