Hierarchal Metadata Presets?
« on: February 02, 2016, 04:45:03 pm »

Is there a way to create hierarchal metadata presents? Perhaps something like:

Location
   Virginia
      Richmond
   Georgia
      Atlanta

As I gather more and more metadata presets, the dropdown menu list gets longer and longer, and it's harder and harder to find the one I want.

Bob, are you talking about metadata presets or keyword lists?

When you name child presets, just stick a "-" in front of the name. Or use a numbering convention at the start of preset names - eg .00 is top level, .1x etc.

Thanks. That's the workaround I'm using now. Something like:

Location: VA: Richmond
Location: GA: Savannah

©: None

It's better than nothing.

I've also entered a feature request on the support forum section for those. Is there another/better way to request this feature? They already implemented it for Develop Presets, maybe they would consider Metadata Presets (and Brush Presets).

No, that's the best way to ask, though to be honest I doubt this would be implemented. Develop presets have it because, unlike Metadata and Brush presets, some people do have very (even ludicrously) large numbers of Develop presets. But even in that case the hierarchy is only one level deep.

A good naming convention isn't a workaround ;)
