Zabriskie at dawn, III

Despite their fame, their relatively easy access and the grand vistas you can see from there (if that is what you are looking for), Zabriskie Point and Manley Beacon offer some of the most intimate views of Death Valley; I love Zabriskie and photographed it in many different lights, but I think that the pre-dawn, pastel light suits this side of Zabriskie's character best.
With the D800E and the Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 AF-S. Thanks for viewing, best

Very good illustration of Death Valley's harsh and unforgiving environment.

The arid, mineral world in all its glory. Well done.

Simply beautiful. I love the contrast in colors, textures, and shapes.

VERY well done. Great color palette as well.
How on earth did you get that shot w/out any people in it?
The times I've been there there were not only shoulder to shoulder people (mostly photography classes), there were hikers already up and away in the shot.

I just calculated that on Sunday, January 24th, shortly after 7am PST, the full moon will be setting next to Manly Beacon, the triangular protrusion in this image. I am planning to be there.

Thank you very much for taking the time to view and write, your comments are very much appreciated!
I wish I could be there for the moonset-sunrise, but I will be in DV a few days after... too bad!
Thanks again, best

Thank you very much! Pre-dawn light is one of my favourite - when is beautiful, there is very little that can touch it...
