Background color for incense smoke images
« on: January 04, 2016, 11:44:09 am »

Am using incense smoke images to create different formed images, via PS, and am in a quandary as to appealing background colors.
Should I be using complementary, opposite, colors from the subject or more of a analogous, similar, color scheme?
The example below is merely an inverted color scheme.  Selecting a color seems to be easier than is selecting the proper color.

Black background. I think the foreground colour probably matters less.

This seems to be an artistic endeavor.  I'm not sure what would look "best", but seems it's about your vision and goals. I have no advice other than trust your own instincts.
