FYI

A nice introduction to how sensors work.

Cheers,

Good video.  It just needs an addendum to include what Sony has accomplished with its Exmor R CMOS sensor.

Your welcome Jeremy and Sean,

I thought it was a reasonably accurate and neutral representation of basic digital sensor technology, and thought it worthwhile enough to share. However, it's only covering the basics so there is more info needed for a better understanding of what captures our images, but it's a good start. It's better to build on a solid foundation than a shaky one.

Cheers,
Bart

You might want to get a perspective on just who is making and posting this video by checking this sight... http://filmmakeriq.com/

I'm perplexed from where the spokesperson in that video acquired all the very detailed technical data on how electrons, sensors and camera circuitry work seeing most of his site seems a bit sophomoric. It just seems odd.

However, that video is the most in-depth and concise explanation on the subject of camera sensors I've come across online.
