Blind River in June
« on: December 06, 2015, 11:21:02 pm »

Found this 6 months ago and have worked on it, off and on, ever since. Until today I couldn't come up with a version that did enough justice to what I saw from my little kayak. Curious to know what others think.
Thank you all.
Richard
PS- This is another foto from SE LA. Blind River's an hours drive from New Orleans.

It's moody and it triggers my curiosity. I like it a lot.

Ditto. Being in a kayak you're at a great level for the shot...

Understated colours suits the scene and the composition is spot on. An image that could be rendered in different ways and still be worthy.

there are some interesting elements in the image...the conical trunks mid-ground, the yellow anddull aqua colors, and moss etc - and of course the bright light illuminating. Problems are the upper third and the lower third which are dark and while they can make for good framing and contrast to the center - it so much that it overwhelms and detracts and becomes dull space...especially non-distinct lower third. Look at cropping out some of said /B
