Even if you don't have Italian, you can, as snappers, enjoy the wonderful visual set pieces.

Grazie mille!

Prego!

Thematically similar to La Dolce Vita, in some ways, but colour and era bring it something totally different, too.

I found the main character rather difficult to understand sometimes - I think he may have been using a Neapolitan accent as part of his act, since I think that's where he's from; I found the faces of the middle-aged women to be absolutely wonderful: they put the empty glamour of the Hollywood contingent to shame - character, experience, a few lines near the eyes... that's what allure is really all about when you're older then 25!

God, how I wish I had that apartment in Rome, slap bang across the road from the Colosseum! On the other hand, maybe it's a fake: I believe that in Dolce, much of the Via Veneto was actually shot in Cinecitta!

Glad you enjoyed it; makes posting links worthwhile.

Might have posted this link before - if not, interesting on several fronts; could be illuminating to discover who was first with some of the almost classic set piece street pictures. Makes me think it a bit unfair that so much attention was paid to Paris at the exclusion of almost everywhere else other than New York...

I guess it is blocked in some places because of copyright issues, since the link provided is not an official version but a DVD rip from a youtube user.

The movie is available for rent or buy from youtube at the following link:

An American in Italy:

Yet another photographer who orginally wanted to be a painter. To me, this proves yet again that art is either in the man or not.
