Two old issues

I reported these a couple of months ago but nothing has been changed. Just a friendly reminder!

1) When first going to the home page, the featured article photo displays at the top for a second or so and is then replaced by the slideshow. This is very unprofessional looking, having things hop around like this.

2) In the forum, one can only "quote" when responding to earlier posts. "Reply" and other commands are available only for the most recent post.

About your issue 2: The "Reply" and other actions are only listed at the end of the thread (below the latest post) because they act on the entire thread as a whole, not a specific post. Quoting is a per-post operation.
