Germany unleashed
« on: November 21, 2015, 10:01:21 am »

Germany. For those of us who have departed to other places, it changed us forever. How can we forget the rolling hills, the perfectly placed benches, the long walks with family and the dog who had to be walked regardless? But for me it was the mornings often before sunrise. The infinite quiet broken perhaps by the sound of a church bell ringing in the distance. It took me from the physical world to the spiritual, a step away and above reality. Gone were the mundane worries and fear, you were one with the land. And on this morning on the ridge between Rehweiler and Reuschbach I was rewarded with a spectacle that came along once in a while in the skies that were normally heavy with clouds with the promise of rain. This morning was something different, something out of the world. I was stunned by a heavenly show as the morning was born and the sky erupted into sheer magic and the mist was so thick above the hills you could walk on it. Those who live there now will know. Those who have lived there in the past will understand. This is Germany...unleashed

I always enjoy your German stuff. I had a chance to spend  a few weeks there and was surprised at the walking and biking (and pubbing) opportunities in a green and varied landscape.

A very tempting scene.

I've only been in Germany once, in1952 with my family. I was too young to appreciate the landscape back then, but I'm sure I never saw a scene as lovely as this one.

Good light and sky. For me, the tree would need a tad more room on the left.

My preference is a slight more contrast but as it is a fine image!
