Canon EOS Utility 3 not Launching

Since updating to El Capitan, Canon's EOS utility is not launching on my Macbook Pro when I connect the camera via usb. I have updated the utility to the latest version. Did the same with EOS utility 2 and the same result. I have searched the Web and can find no answers. It seems there is often some lag with Canon, when addressing new OSes, but this recent article suggests the latest versions should work: http://photofocus.com/2015/10/02/canon-eos-utility-vs-macs-new-os-el-capitan/

Any know why it is not working for me?

Well, not using version 3 or El Capitan i am guessing, but the usual reason is:
Connect your camera
In finder go Applications > Image Capture.app
Down the bottom there will be a funny little icon. Click it and it will ask you what yo do when you connect a camera. Tell it.

My opinion though is to leave this off and just copy from the card to the hard drive you use. Much faster, safer and more reliable.
