Cinema 30 with 14 mac

I have some problem with my dual g5 2.7 mac  , apple have it to find out what is the problem, now I don't have my g5, but I have 14 inch mac.
 the screen is to small,,how I can really make my little mac to work with my 30 inch cinema?
I can cornect it, but is in small resoluccion, I can not do it like normal display...I have 2 days trying to find it out, but no luck,,any help?

For Mac OS 10.4.x:
Apple Menu/System Preferences...
Hardware/Displays...
Display Tab/Detect Displays Button...

Then set the resolution for the 30" as high as your video card will allow.
