change in creating links in replies
« on: October 29, 2015, 04:26:13 pm »

For years, when creating a link to another site while replying to a thread, I could highlight the text I would like to be clicked on, then select the link icon and paste in the link in the dialog box.  \

Now after pasting in the link, I get another dialog box asking me what text I would like for the link.  So I have to type in the text I highlighted again.

I’m not sure when this changed and why.  Perhaps it’s to keep long hyperlinks out of the replies so everyone has to enter some shorter text to be clicked (although if you don’t enter anything in that second box, you still get the full link as text in the message.). Any chance the highlighted text could be pre-populated in that dialog box so it can just be accepted and not re-entered?

Wayne,  I'll have our web guys look at this.  Part of the change came from the Forum Software we use.  We'll see if we can address what you are asking about.
