New Imac 5k - Monitor Calibration
« on: October 29, 2015, 12:29:53 pm »

I just tried to calibrate my new 27" Retina Imac (Late 2015) using a Spyder5Elite.
The result shows a strong red/magenta cast. Has anyone here experience with calibrating Retina Imacs?

Not to sound offending, but isn't the Spyder hardware pretty much notorious for creating color casts? Including the latest?

does the spyder software let you choose the type of LCD backlighting?

the 'old' NEC's probably had CCFL backlighting while the iMac has LED (I forget what type)

This fellow is saying you have to futz with the RGB controls to get good results:

Okay, the problem was my own stupidity...
The Imacs automatic brightness adjustment feature was turned on. That caused the color cast.
