I would like your opinons.  Do you think croping is right on this, or is there too much water toward the bottom?

I would have done something along these lines.  The big block of bright space was distracting to me.  A very interesting shot.

I agree with trimming the bottom off as has been shown... personally I would have liked to see the whole roof in the background (I noticed it wasn't present - was chopped off - in the original photo) to add a frame against the top of the image and to arrest the vertical lines.  It would also continue the roof line frame across the left side.  I do like all of the vertical projections though - an interesting shot indeed!

Thanks for the comments. Actually the original shows the roof top. But I was bothered by the pipes sticking up. Here is another version cropped to show the roof, and less of the bottom. I will have to remove that one disturbing pipe on the right side.

I do agree it shows more of the shadows and lines, and less distracting on the bottom. I'll work with this one a bit more. Thanks slv.

I can't seem to get another version of the pic on this post. Is there a trick to it, or am I just not seeing something obvious?

Would love to see the whole original photo. Just add the pic the same way you did in your first post.....Browse to find file,...... then - Add this attachment,... then - Add into post. Presto!

I think the roof has to go. The image feels as if everything is a bit cramped...which is not necessarily a bad thing if you are wanting to portray the boats in a cramped mooring. It just feels a bit squishy to me.

I rather like the abstract water reflections and have done a few for fun.

I let Marcia play with it, and this is what she selected.

"The original had too much clutter. I saw the prison quality of the boats...anxious to get out into the water and retained against their will to the confines and constraints of cells."

Hi I have tried that twice now, and it seems like it shows up behind my original. I even renamed it.  Lets try again with the original, no edits.

File name Harbor.jpg

And yes it is a little crooked, had to straigten that out.

Ok, file too big, let me try one more time. I will get this right if it kills me.
