is it possible?!
« on: October 19, 2015, 08:53:59 am »

I can't beleive that!

It's been days that the silly QT pop-up Windows asked me insistently to get the latest version as I never upgrade the QT.
It normaly does every week or so but recently was a bombing in the very style of Google and Co
And as always I ignored it.
Up until today that I suddenly had blank Prores footage on both Da-Vinci Resolve and Scratch. No more Prores.

so...I finaly get the latest version and everything back on track again in a second.

But that's bloody nasty politics. They track you, they ask you to get their product and if you don't, at one point it has issues that suddenly happen just like that.

Apple were are you? Is seems to be the shade of what it used to be.

We could replace Prores by DNxHD if things
Got nasty.

In fact I think QT has been a mess since the very
Beginning. We all remember the gamma shift episode.

I never really understood why in an industry that has
Been very concerned on avoiding hassles, how Prores
Has managed to win over DNx if not because of what
You pointed: that creative people are using Apple.
But then DITs and creatives are not tuned.
Creatives like design, cool factor and ease of use, at
The expense of rationality and the techs are screaming
For hassle-free, universability and power.

We'd need a universal non-proprietary accepted
By everyone.
Cineform is top, I think better than Prores, but a bit expensive. If they could release
The code it could be a standart.

Yeah,
But the big sand grain in the engrenage is called FCPX.

Now, who knows if this X is not going to evolved enough
So later it will become truly useable for the profile people who
Have switched elsewhere.

I'm not far from thinking that if you wait 2 or 3 years,
Then a FCP 11 or 12 could replace your 7.

Who knows.

But it's more likely to be a Blackmagic decade in our niche.

In a few years, computers will handle raw video like we do
Today youtube .264. It will be the end of Prores and DNx
And everybody will shoot Raw.
I don't beleive motion is interesting Apple that much now.

Lol...I like when you shake me when I fall
Sometimes into the complain buzz
And you're right.

So I changed my title and removed the Apple reference
Because hey, I sounded like my ex moody girlfriend.

Lol...what would be big is that Apple buy Adobe and they
Do a PremiereProX...with i.phones control surface.
Imagine the faces of the fcp7 dudes who made the switch...
