Converting a Sigma SD1M to Nikon mount
« on: October 06, 2015, 09:45:37 am »

For a variety of reasons, I am considering converting my Sigma SD1M to a Nikon Mount. This will allow me to mount my Zeiss 135/2 and 85/1.4 and other manual lenses to the Sigma.

My concern is manual only focusing on the SD1M. (There is no live view for example or the rangefinder system on my D810)

Does anyone have any experience of using the SD1M with manual only lenses, particularly after the conversion I will not have access to "chip" information as I do with my Nikon D810.

The combination of the Zeiss lenses and the SD1M sensor is the main attraction, and the ability to then consolidate lenses to a single mount, making for some flexibility and alleviating the need to bring my donkey along on every shoot to carry stuff.
