Hi,

I got a P40+ back, how do I do live view ? I can't seem to open the camera's shutter for live view. If I hit the shutter butter buttton it just takes an image.

With modern Phase backs/bodies Live View integration is seamless. With the older backs/bodies you had to do some things manually.

1. Start Live View
2. Switch body to T exposure (B also works but requires holding the exposure open, so I suggest T)
3. Start an exposure
[use live view however you want]
4. End the exposure
5. Close Live View

It's important to do things in this order. With these legacy systems if you kept the exposure going after you closed live view you could get errors or lockups.

Make sure the back and body firmware are both up to date before doing this. Also check under preferences where you can change the default time before it auto pauses the live view.

Your dealer can step you through this if you find it confusing. It's literally their job to help :)!

Thanks Doug, got it to work. Seems that is no T on the Mamiya III, so I'll have to use Bulb.

Cheers

My memory must be going!

But if you only have B (and your firmware is up to date) then you must be right and they introduced the T option on the DF (one generation later).

Using the B mode with the Phase/Mamiya release cable would work as it has a physical lock:
