Used it last Friday and it was fine. Tonight it appears to be a dead soldier. the lights on the side do not light up and in i1 Profiler all of functions have the red question mark icons over all functions indicating the program is in DEMO mode. I'm running the latest OS X (10.10.5) version of i1 Profiler (v1.6.3 / XRD 2.3.9.8 )
Second usual stupid suggestion, try a different USB port to see if that is the issue.
The dead one BTW was one of the very early ones and may have been recently knocked off my desk accidentally .
My first guess would be that the lead has gone O/C at the point it flexes where it goes into the instrument. If so, possibly fixable.
Ellis - You ought to, at least for fun, watch the tear down video on youtube for the i1. It's interesting in how clever they are when they designed it and how really inexpensive it is on the inside. Still, for a couple of bills, it's a bargain.
One last question, I've seen others in other threads make mention of XRD. Andrew Rodney in particular comes across as a bit contemptuous of XRD. What is XRD?
A huge waste of engineering and software that in the past was filled with bugs. Those of us using multiple instruments in the past had no issue hooking and unhooking up the various products prior to i1P and the awful XRD. Anyway, if what X-rite states is true, it's just a poorly written and largely if not totally unnecessary Device Services protocol.
