Help needed using Leica S cable release

I just bought a Leica S cable release and for the love of me I can't get it to work. I have plugged it into the bottom port (Blue) and I am using the correct Leica 006 blue cable but when I press the button nothing happens.........I can't see if it needs a battery as I can't see where a battery could be inserted
Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?
