I like it (a lot). The coils, screw threads, coil shadows, and even the bokeh background have a central theme of cyclic repetition, and the background puts the winch nicely into context. Your processing is exquisite, imho. All in all, a grand photo.

I agree with Bob's comments. I like the image!
Is the bottom edge of the image straight with a 90° corner on the right? Looks a tad off.

The shallow Dof helps make the image and the processing is spot on. Did you take a shot that isn't straight on. I think it would be interesting?

Thanks, all. I was a little off-centre when I took it, so I corrected it in LR and that might account for any slight oddity. Stamper, I'm sure you're right but sadly I took only the one: it was a quick grab as my wife and I walked away from a restaurant where we'd had a coffee. I should have spent more time on it.
