ordering Olympus teleconverter from Japan
« on: July 20, 2015, 01:33:53 pm »

Other than the manual being in Japanese, is there any reason I shouldn't save $100 by ordering the Japan version of the Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 1.4x Teleconverter MC-14 to use with my Olympus E-M1 (U.S. model) and M.Zuiko ED 40-150mm f2.8 PRO? I assume it is identical to the U.S. model?

You might have to return it to Japan if it needs warranty service.

I would think it is an identical product so no worries there and I doubt you need a manual to know how to use it.
AFairley's comment is quite valid so it depends how comfortable you would be with that if it should need correcting or repairing (given that tcs are, in technological terms, fairly simple compared to most photographic gear).

Thanks. The warranty issue hadn't occurred to me. I ordered it anyway and will post again if I encounter any problems.
