Affinity Photo released today thru the AppStore
« on: July 09, 2015, 11:34:38 pm »

I had the beta so I guess I got the email with a 20% discount. I think that's the initial offer price for anyone.
The user reviews make it sound like a PS killer but we'll see. I never got around to exercising the beta, but the users in the store raved about it.

I think that the discount is valid til July 27th. There's a learning curve to adapt from Photoshop but it's a power application and they offer video tutorials that will help new users to get up to speed for the basic tasks.

At £29.95 (or even the full price of £39.95) it does seem remarkable value for money. Serif does it again.

Has anyone seen a revised timescale for the release the Windows version?

I also am interested in the windows version.   I think competition is good for the users, and I looked over the website and features and it looks promising.

From what I have read in their forums, the plan is to have a beta of Publisher (their version of InDesign) around the beginning of next year. I guess they hope to have a release version towards the middle of the year and they already have roadmaps posted for Designer and Photo. When they feel that they have a good suite of apps for the Mac, then they would think about Windows. So given their roadmaps, that sounds like it might be around 2016.

Thanks Jim, sounds like it might be much longer than I had hoped, to see a win version.  Sigh.
