Hey guys.

Im wondering if someone has a moment if they provide some input on selling off my Phase system (Phase DF+ IQ160, 55mm LS, 80mm LS, and 150mm LS)

I have the Original Boxes, 3 batteries RRS grip etc

The system is refurbished and was purchased less than 2 years ago and is in great shape.

I just honestly have no idea how to price it. Realistically, ill just be happy to give someone a great deal and get a fair price. $I was looking at about $20,000.00 but im not sure if that is realistic.

ANY ADVICE would be much appreciated.

pictures always help, information about warranty also helps, your location is also important for some buyers.

Sure!

So I live in Canada but could ship to the US no problem and would even consider sending it for someone to try out if needed.

Ill look into the warranty, but im sure its standard Phase stuff. More to come on that.

Pictures attached below.

Any thoughts on what a fair price is would really help.

The last couple of IQ180s I’ve seen sell (from reputable sellers) have gone for ~$15k (both including VAW IIRC).

So, based on MP:

IQ180 = $15k used, private sale.
IQ160 = (60/80) x $15k = $11.25k

An IQ160 just sold on eBay for $12.5k (from a reputable seller) - by the time the seller has paid all the fees, PayPal charges etc. they'll probably net $11.5k - so the above formula is pretty accurate.

So, $11.5k is what - as a buyer - I would expect to pay for a used IQ160 in good shape with some warranty left.

If you search GetDPI and LuLa you'll get an idea of what people are asking for the other bits of gear you have. Doesn't mean to say they sold for that. Have a look on eBay for closing prices.

N.B. If you're selling privately do not use dealer pricing as a guide - for backs like the IQ series what a dealer wants and what the used (private) buyer is prepared to pay are w-o-r-l-d-s apart.

I agree that IQ160 is about 12k on second hand market. You would probably get more than 20k if you sell everything separately. For the whole kit, 20k is a fair price and 18k would be a very good price for somebody.

Out of curiosity, why moving away from Phase One so fast?

Thank-you both (buckshot and yashima) for the replies. Ya, I was thinking that 18K would be a good price point for everything.

The reason for me moving from Phase is all about Price. When I bought the system 2 years ago, I was a consultant and making a very good living. I planned on completing the system with more lenses etc. Since then, things have kind of turned sour in the industry and I can no longer afford to complete the lens collection or move to the new body coming out.

I admit that I second guess myself all the time.

So after much help (Thank you all) I think I have decided on a price.

IQ 160 - $12,000.00 USD. Actuations are 2854. Perfect Shape.
Phase One / Schneider Kreutznach 80mm f2.8 LS - $800.00 USD
Phase One / Schneider Kreuznach 150mm 3.5 LS - $3,000.00 USD
Phase One / Schneider Kreuznach 55mm f/2.8 LS AF Lens - $2,500.00 USD
Phase One DF+ Body $1,500.00 USD

Or - The Whole Kit for $17,000.00 USD

Comes with 4 Batteries for the IQ 160, RRS Grip for the DF+

If anything seems off, I would GREATLY Appreciate you all letting me know. I think this is priced to move and will allow me to exit the system with reasonable loss.

Kudos and GLWS, this is a heck of a deal and someone better swoop in and take it before I succumb to impulse.

Here is a link to some much better Hi res images and video, as well as a few shots from the 150 and the IQ 160 today.

(You will need to cut and paste this as the forum seems to split the link.)

https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=255b824d1a5463f3!13997&authkey=!AOtCmk817F0WPqc&ithint=folder%2cjpg

Flaws:

There are a few hairline scratches on the back of the LCD. Im pretty sure these came like this with the refurb as I recall going through them with my purchaser.

The 150 hood has a small scrape/dent from when it fell off the top of my bag a while back. (Lens was not attached) Buyer has option to have a new hood or deduct $200.00 from the purchase price (Cost of new hood) Hood is pictured.

Thats it. Otherwise its in pristine condition.

Genuinely curious, but in the Phase world, does a back being "refurbished" have the same connotation as it would for any other type of item from another maker - being that there was possibly a defect which was repaired by the manufacturer?

If so, I would think that it would warrant a slightly lower price. The back that recently sold on ebay for 12k (and another a month ago for 11) was not refurbished.

Sorry Andrewsk - not trying to cut your prices (too much) :)

No, the way Phase works is that previous owners trade in their backs all the time. Phase fully restores and re certifies them, then they are re-released to the market at a lower cost. Its one of the big advantages of Phase.

Such a beautiful kit!  If only I could sell my 645Z + 55 outright and fork over the extra $$$ to pick this up off you, I'd do it in a second, especially since you're in Canada.  I'll see what I can swing!

Hi guys.

First off, I do have an interested party for the whole kit. Ill keep this post updated once the sale is final, but I would pretty much call it sold.

chrisbodnarphoto:

The conversion Rate is crazy right now and this was priced in USD specifically. If I priced it in CAD, I would have done the conversion first, so sorry.

BTW, are you not happy with your Z? I have one and love it. The Phase and the Z while similar have totally opposite strengths and weaknesses. (IQ and Leaf shutter vs ISO and Live view)

Thanks,

Keith

Not a problem Andrew!  I'm happy to hear that it's sold ... just a little less happy that I'm not the one purchasing it.  Was about to go bananas and put a bunch of gear up for sale to snatch it from you ... c'est la vie. :)

Re: the 645Z - if you quickly check my post on the Sale page, you'll see why.  Fantastic camera, to say the least, it just might not quite fit my needs.  Looking to pick up a CCD back to replace it. :)
