Proceed at your own risk, http://petapixel.com/2013/08/04/scratching-the-color-filter-array-layer-off-a-dslr-sensor-for-sharper-bw-photos/.

Much as I like shooting for B&W, there's no way on earth I'm trying that
-
Would be fun to try with some older bodies. Pick up something cheap with possibly a scratched IR filter and do this to it (and replace the IR while you are in there).

That's the way I'd approach it too.
(and replace the IR while you are in there).
Or don't and use an IR blocking filter on the lens when you don't want IR. That way you have IR when you want it and true monochrome when you want it.
It wouldn't surprise me to see places like Lifepixel start to offer this as an option.

if you can dismount sensor assembly you can as well put into a sequence of solvents (CFA are in most cases organic)... outside, poison danger, watch for sparks.

I like the way you think!

What kind of solvents. By dismount the sensor assembly, how far are you talking? If you look at the videos, the sensors have been taken out of the cameras, but all the wiring is still intact. Not sure it would be possible to go much further than that.

do you think services like maxmax.com literally scratch CFA ?

Didn't know Maxmax was doing monochrome conversions. Thought they just did IR/UV.
-
As the CFA are in most cases organic, just drop it in a cup of Coke and leave for a week, im sure that woulds do the trick!
I clean my old pennies that way!

they do, just not every camera - mostly Canons.
