Unfortunately in a democracy, the people vote themselves free stuff that turns out not to be so free, because nothing is for nothing.  The people eventually pay for it with higher taxes and inflation as the government has to become creative in finding the money to pay for all that "free" stuff.

We just went over $3o trillion in national debt.  Inflation and higher prices are rampant.  You want to dance; you pay the piper.

Thank you once again, for stating the obvious, Captain.
Whatever would we do without you keeping us up to date?

The same Democrats who support Liz Cheney today called her father Darth Vader when he was VP under Bush. They thought he was a warmonger.

So what? Another world-class irrelevancy.

Democrats care as much for Liz Cheney and her policies as they do (did) about her father VP Dick Cheney.  They're just using her and her anger against Trump because he went against her family and thinks her father was a warmonger getting us into the war in Iraq under false pretense about weapons of mass destruction that weren't there.  It is a world-class relevancy.

Anybody genuinely thinking that Republicans are truly believers in the importance law and order need to watch this.

Isn't it time to admit that the only motivation of Trump is to stay out of jail?

Cheers,

You're conflating crime which all Americans are concerned about and Trump.  The political fact is many people blame Democrats for more crime due to their policy of defunding the police and blaming cops for so many social ills.  Jurisdictions, mainly democratic in control, have diminished policing.  These have encouraged criminals to fear police less.  Crime has therefore gone up. Trying to lay it off on Trump and change the discussion won't work.

This will show up in the November election unless people change their view on what's causing it.  It's one of the reasons Biden just went to NYC to meet with the new mayor to discuss crime.  He's trying to change the public view that Democrats aren't strong on it.  We'll see whether he succeeds.  Fortunately, Democrat Mayor Adams of NYC is a former police captain and is strong on crime.  If he brings crime down in NYC,  it will help Demcorats across the country.  Other Democratic mayors would be smart to follow Adams' lead.

Biden and NYC Mayor Eric Adams seal their alliance as Democrats face a crossroads on crime
This pairing of big-city mayor and American president is as unlikely as it might be consequential. Adams is a Black former police captain with a reformer’s streak who ran a law-and-order campaign and converted his first paycheck to crypto. Biden, who likes to pay in cash, spent decades in the halls of Washington power, turning “tough on crime” politics into policy, but has since called the era’s signature legislation a “mistake.” On Thursday, though, in a pair of events in different boroughs, the two halves of what is shaping up as one of the Democratic Party’s foremost bromances enjoyed their signature day.

Biden’s visit, which included a visit to a public school in Queens for a talk with community leaders, also amounted to a signal moment in the Democratic national leadership’s forceful rejection of the more radical criminal justice revision ideas that gained prominence after the police in Minneapolis killed George Floyd in the spring of 2020.

“Mayor Adams, you and I agree. The answer is not to abandon our streets. The answer is to come together, police and communities,” Biden said at NYPD headquarters. “The answer is not to ‘defund the police.’ It’s to give you the tools, the training, the funding to be partners, to be protectors.”

What does the experience of Roy Cohn teach https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2019/09/19/roy-cohn-donald-trump-documentary-228144/.

In that article there is a discussion of the American admiration for the guy who "gets away with it". What horse manure. The myth is pretty partisan about what things you'll allowed to "get away with".

Soon it will be at $100 a barrel. Cheaper to walk.

(Bloomberg) -- Oil has rocketed to a fresh seven-year high near $93 a barrel, and almost every indicator is pointing to the rally extending.

You might lose some extra weight and have time to think over what you'll post next**.
Meanwhile you can congratulate Trump, the 'former' CEO for this as you must:

Biden sets first-year record with 6.6 million jobs added
Quote
Employers added a record 6.6 million jobs during Joe Biden's first 12 months in office, by far the strongest record of any president's first year in office.
The unexpected strength of the January jobs report — along with some revisions in readings for November and December — pushed Biden over the 6 million mark. But he could have claimed that distinction even without them. The previous record holder was Jimmy Carter, who saw a gain of 3.9 million jobs in his first 12 months in office.
By comparison, Donald Trump's first 12 months in office notched a gain of 2 million jobs.
Now what genius told us, the President is the CEO and takes responsibility for all this?

Doggone it, Alan! Can't you get your president to stop?  He's killing us with these prices.

We so few here taking Alan seriously, what chance does he have of getting Trump to listen to him (and 'fix') this?  ;D

Speaking of autos, I just got an increase of 10% for car insurance.  I suppose home insurance will go up next.

Well, I'd buy a Tesla, as soon as they teach it how to stop at crosswalks.

You just need to be willing learn how to use the brake pedal which for your information, differs from the bigger gas pedal.
