He lied about what I said.  I never said it. I was responding to that.
Yes, you called him a lier and now, Jeremy should ban you from posting?
You said I called you a lair, do show us where.

I must have missed the bit where she gave speeches claiming to have won, and endangered lives by refusing to co-operate with the incoming team.
You moved the goal post.  The point is she maneuvered for recounts when it was obvious she lost.  Same as Trump.  The only difference was she was more political while Trump is a big mouth.  Then she went on for the next four years how the election was stolen from her by the electoral system, the Russians,  and FBI Director Comey.  I expect Trump will be a sore loser like her too.

Joe,
Also younger people get often very ill and afterwards are doomed with chronical health problems as the absence of taste and smell, etc that make their life miserable.
Then the 1500 people that die every day in the US got it through somebody else. Possibly one that did not realize he/she was infected
The people working in overfilled hospitals are heaving a very traumatic time.
enough examples... here one from Texas.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-54966876

Please give me the percentage of young people who have these effects.

If you are going to state cryonic side effects, at least be statistically responsible and give us how many can expect to have these side effects, otherwise you are just engaging in panic porn.  I've had enough panic porn to last a lifetime this year, and will simply disregard any additional statistically irrelevant information from here on.

Insofar as the increase in infections, it is tragic, but the natural course of pandemics.  There is nothing we can do about it except get the vaccine out as soon as possible.  Countries that had some pretty strict lockdowns still got walloped with new cases.  The vaccine is the only thing we have.

From the WSJ

The Failed Experiment of Covid Lockdowns

"Six months into the Covid-19 pandemic, the U.S. has now carried out two large-scale experiments in public health—first, in March and April, the lockdown of the economy to arrest the spread of the virus, and second, since mid-April, the reopening of the economy. The results are in. Counterintuitive though it may be, statistical analysis shows that locking down the economy didn’t contain the disease’s spread and reopening it didn’t unleash a second wave of infections."

It's all very well, but for instance here in Portugal 68% of the infections are related to family environment. Grandchildren and children end up infecting their older family members. How do you suggest we keep people above 70 isolated from their family home? In caring homes, it is the social workers and assistants that bring the infection inside.

So you see, unless everybody is careful, your suggestion does not work.

I do realize that in other countries, multiple generations live under the same roof, unlike here in the USA.  As an American, my ideas are for the American market, not necessarily the world.  I will try to remember to state this in future posts.

Insofar as here, I would say your house your rules.  If someone living with you does not abide by your rules, change the locks.  As I am sure most on here already know, I am not afraid to use tough love and a fan of letting people learn from their mistakes.

I know what you 'think' when you tell me and others as you continue to do. The quality of the "thinking", based on years of posting here, not just this subject give some insights to the quality of your thinking. What I believe is often, when you get your feet wet with the diarrhea from your keyboard, you are called out to provide fact and can't, or, what you've written is absurd (be it resolution or about isolation and death, or the date of the inauguration; so many other examples one could provide). I believe, like the guy currently in the White House, you don't know what you don't know, you're not the deepest thinker and you fly off the hook with posts/tweets without thinking others will expect proof, data and take responsibility to accept them when proven wrong.

Thank you for again making statements you never checked and believe them to be factual.
Trump Favors Returning To The Gold Standard, Few Economists Agree
Trump recently told the website thescene.com that he would like to return U.S. currency to the gold standard. NPR's Jim Zarroli reports.

And don’t worry about what he says, worry about what he does (or tries to do)

President Trump has nominated Judy Shelton, whose main qualification appears to be the work she did in 2016 for Trump’s campaign. She is best known for advocating a rules-based system of monetary policy, where each nation’s currency has a fixed and predictable value. And in particular, she likes the gold standard, which the United States embraced from its founding until the Fed finally abandoned it in 1973.

Now, as far as your so American concept that Jeremy should lock down the thread because you were repeatedly called out by multiple people on make-believe, or that you called someone here a liar, shows the desperation of your "thinking". In fact, the best move for you would be if he did lock down the thread because it would force you to cease posting rubbish and getting called out for it. You don't seem to have any control over getting out of a hole you've dug here that many (and their voices are here in B&W) disagree with your disregard for facts and how your mind works in terms of 'thinking'. Much like Trump on Twitter. At least there, they post a logo that what's been barfed up is not true.

No one called you stupid. Some may, repeat may believe that is true. You have the ability to make that so, or not. My advice is, post a lot less, think a bit more before doing so.
I did check the facts and my statements are true.  Yours aren't.  Shelton liked the gold standard but then backed off of that position to satisfy Trump who likes to print who then nominated her for the Fed.   She also changed her position on gold in the hope she would be approved for the Fed by Congress who mainly doesn't;t like gold.  But she lost the vote anyway.  She sold out her beliefs to get on the FOMC.

Can't you just disagree and make your counter-argument without calling someone or their comments stupid?
There can be no counter-arguments to your posts because your posts contain no arguments to counter. You just post a bunch of conclusary statements which you say are either your opinion, or a statement of fact which you will not substantiate, depending on which way the wind is blowing. An opinion or a statement of facts is not an argument.

These, of course, are just your opinions, and everyone can assign to them whatever weight, if any, they may deem appropriate.

And it wouldn't be one of your posts if you had not included the whataboutism concerning Hilary.

So basically no facts, and your favorite logical fallacy.

You of course ignored what Trump said to focus on Shelton who by the way, her nomination failed in the Senate 47-50 yesterday.

Back to Covid-19 (because in 60 odd days, Trump is gone): ugly fact, South Korea, with a population about 70 times that of the great plains state has recorded fewer than 500 coronavirus deaths while North Dakota has seen nearly 800.
The US is doing a lot wrong in this effort.

Andrew didn't provide links.  Why should I?  I'll let readers decide whether Shelton changed her position.  Or you could look it up and get back to us.

There is where? Gotta be down south, I'm unaware of widespread resistance in Santa Fe. Target and others up here closed due to so many infections (4) within 14 days; as they should be. Pick up service still available. Businesses with four or more rapid responses within a two-week period may be subject to a mandatory 14-day closure under an Oct. 22 order from Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. Target reached the four-report threshold last Wednesday. Lujan Grisham is following the science and recommendations of public health experts. Walmart, a ”big box” like Target due to be closed up here today. As it should be too.

Go look at the DeVargas Center parking lot.

I said "who cares" to compare Obama's inauguration of 12 and 8 years ago to Trump's inauguration 4 years ago? I have no idea why that question was even asked?  It sounds like baiting or trolling to me.     More general than that I won't go.  It depends on what's being discussed.

No reason to provide links. We'll just assume you don't have any facts, and the statements in your posts are just your opinions, even if you call them facts. You are certainly entitled to your opinions.

Everyone notice the whataboutism reference to Andrew?

Yet again, no facts, and your favorite logical fallacy.

I can't read the article (paywall) but can you suggest a physical mechanism to explain how it could possibly be the case that a lockdown does not reduce the infection and increased contact not increase it?

What explains this graph, without mentioning lockdown?
