Nick Devlins Gura Gear Uinta Bag review
« on: March 24, 2014, 01:33:29 pm »

Just had a nice little talk with someone called "Spencer" on the Gura website chat window.
After reading Nicks rave ... sorry ... I just couldn't help doing it .... it just came over me ...
I was really fighting against it ... however ... here it is ...

Cheers

Thank you for visiting Gura Gear! Can I help you with anything?

Me: I was just reading Nick Devlins rave about your new Uinta Bag on the Luminous Landscape and wonder if you can deliver the bag in a pink finish with green dots to use it as a stealthed bag when Photoshooting in funparks like Disneyland? ;)

Spencer: Ha. That would be amazing. But not possible.

Me: Too bad. Do you dispise fun parks or shooters taking images there? Don't you believe its a predjudice not to provide a customised fun park design? I feel discriminated.

Spencer: Do discrimination here. You can shoot where ever you would like. We just aren't in the business of making a parks specific colored bag at this time.

No

Me: Shooting with a big black bag on the back in a fun park just makes you look like some perverted pedophile - its scary. A pink bag with green dots would cheer up people a little.

Spencer: that is great.

Love it.

Me: :)

Do you mind me posting our little chat on the LuLa Forums where Nick posted his review?

Spencer: If you want to post our chat that is fine with me.

Me: Great ! Best wishes to you. Cheers Christoph C. Feldhaim. Over and Out.

Spencer: Have a great day.

I think a man carrying a pink camera backpack with green polkadots would look a lot more like a perverted pedophile than one carrying a black bag.

Nope.
Just got the 10-24 mm wide angle for my X-E2 and still am feeling a bit dizzy from looking through it ...

EDIT:
Actually this kind of funny cigs never had any noticeable effect on me
apart from me passing out if I had a beer beforehand - maybe I'm just infantile by nature.
But this has been occasionally only when invited and more than 25 years ago.
I have even stopped smoking unfunny cigs this year.
Live is too short to ruin ones body with stupid shit (pun intended).

It still is a feature this high-tech super-duper bag from "Back to the future" is missing ...  ???

Looks like an interesting bag. They mimicked the F-Stop basic form and function, which I think is very good. I am interested to see the details, because it sounds like they really put some thought into this. Nick's comment about padding and dividers perked up my ears because that is one place I think F-Stop could improve.

Until someone comes up with an anti-gravity module (must be affordable...) for camera backpacks I'll find it hard to raise any enthusiasm for their endless, monotonous, proliferation. However the "GurU Gear" designation on the homepage article did make me smile, albeit weakly.
