I don't know about Snow Leopard, but I had an X1950 pro that was very troublesome under 10.5.6.

I am using a Mac Pro 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon 8 GB ram with ATI Radeon x1900 graphics card on Snow Leopard with no problems and running CS4 and Lightroom. With Lightroom on 1:1 zoom and dragging the view with the hand tool, I occasionally get a bit of distortion but it stabilises as soon as the release the mouse. It's a Snow Leopard/Lightroom thing rather than the graphics card I think. There are a few threads on people with different set ups with a similar issue. Don't let it stop you from installing Snow Leopard.

There is a known bug with Snow Leopard on Top Sites. Vertical lines distortion on web pages. It is only on certain set ups and can lead to a kernel panic. I've been using 10.6.1 since the update and that is the only issue I've encountered. Apple have assured me that there will be fix on the next update.

Hope this helps.
