Now there's an idea!  Maybe I can earn back a few of the many $$$ lost on those switches!

And I guess I have my answer too, from my initial post--I too am surprised by the diversity of answers here as well as the strong showing from Contax.  I didn't expect that at all.

Interesting isn't it Contax is doing well...Brad has owned H, Hy6, Phase ..AND Contax. He can probably work as a consultant :-)

2 contax bodies with
phase p30+
Phase p21+

Actually 2 more contax bodies as backup.

35mm
Canon 1dsMKIII (2)
Canon 5DMK2
Canon 1ds

Nikon D700
Nikon D3
Nikon N-90

Leica M8

Next purchase either Hasselblad H2 (with a mount change for high shutter sync and the 100 F 2.2) or more likely a Nikon D3x.

Hasselblad/Imacon 528C on a Rollei 6008i; several lenses.

I am  really happy with the quality; a Hy6 seems to be really nice too, but it would force me to buy a different back. And that would hurt my wallet too much...
The lenses are just lovely.

Hy6 + Sinar 54LV
40mm Schneider
80 mm Schneider
110 mm Zeiss
150mm Zeiss

I nearly allways only bring 40 and 110 mm and really like those 2 lenses.

There are four of us at our studio.

1) Rolleiflex 6008 AF +db20 PhaseOne
    Rolleiflex 6008 AF + eMotion 75

2) Contax 645 + Leaf 65
Mamiya RZ (film), waiting patiently  for a Contax adapter from Jordan Miller for 5 month (Digital Technology Group, Inc)

3) Hasselblad H1 + p25

4) Sinar-M + Sinarback 54H + Sinarp2 converted to p3 specs
    Rolleiflex Hy6 + eMotion 54LV
    Alpa TC, SW, SWA

I am waiting for a high ISO back or MFD camera, probably the Sinar eSprit 65LV.

Contax (2); rented or borrowed p45+ and p30+; also a fair amount of TXP, TMY, Portra 160NC and 400NC.

Nikon D3;
Nikon D2H for those jobs where I expect it to be destroyed, but no such luck so far;
and a Nikon F that I bought new 40 years ago still sees some use because...well, just because.

Thinking of leasing a p45+ or p65+ later this year or early next.

Or an e75 lv if someone came up with a truly good offer.

H3D11-39 and a bunch of lenses
Hy6/Sinar 75LV and a bunch of lenses
Leica M8/MP  and a bunch of lenses
AlpaWA 24 and 35 Schneider
Hasselblad 205TCC and CFV11 and a bunch of F/FE and CFE lenses
Nikon D3 and a bunch of lenses.
Mamiya RZPro  and a bunch of lenses

I rarely shoot commercially - as there are far easier ways to make a buck and no, I am not a Dentis/Doctor/Lawyer or Investment Banker.
I enjoy reading this forum for the information posted that the local dealers/box movers are clueless about - and because a bunch of photographers sitting around a table is a circle of confusion

What system you mount your digital back on to? (AFi,Hy6 H1, H2, H3 AFD, Contax, Alpa etc)

Are you planing to change systems, or looking in to, say AFi, Hy6 .... or Nikon/Canon/Sony

I think a lot of people feel the same way.

If I sold all my digital backs today,  I'd still keep the Contax, just because it's so nice to work with, especially with film.  Something strange happens to film cameras when they have a digital back on them.  They become cropped and less responsive, though the p21+ is much nicer to work with than the p30+ just because it fires faster and works easier. . . almost like film.

It's kind of strange that this camera went out of production and now our options are limited to the Mamiya as the only open platform medium format camera that is currently made.

It would be as if Kia became the only car you could buy.

Totally agreed. Even without any more improvement, the Contax 645 in back then available today is still a very capable and robust one.

With digital the world is all backwards.

With film, nobody would have bought a film stock that only worked in one camera.

Nobody would have introduced a new camera that worked with only one or two films.

Nobody would have paid 10x the price of a roll of film because it had 20% less grain.

I've known a lot of amateurs and professionals that bought a contax first then started jonesing for a digital back and they usually bought one, though in the last few years had to wait until all the H system orders were filled.   And I've known a lot of people then sell their digital backs and move to the H system because they've needed leaf shutter lenses, or because they just stopped using medium format digital, though I've known few to sell their contax.
